CIGAR BOX BULLETIN
Volume 59, No. 39 February 1, 2012
E Pluribus Unum !
That was the message of the Quill Entertainment Company, which delightfully opened our program in the Sanctuary today. This group of spirited young actors and singers, introduced by Granville Burgess, Co-Founder and CEO, presented our membership with a clever and charming re-enactment of the Constitutional Convention – a convincing lesson on the importance of paying attention to history, and on the spirit of compromise.
President Richard Bartholomew started the regular meeting after the break, at 11:20 AM. Jim Santora led the pledge, and Chuck Standard, accompanied by Peter Ryan on the keyboard, led the singing of The Star-Spangled Banner, the Battle Hymn of the Republic, and It’s A Grand Old Flag. Members were reminded that it was a $2 day. Corresponding Secretary Fred Brooks’ two Catholic Nun stories were well received.
